There has been a ton of news proclaiming that all of the polling is in favor of Democrat presidential candidate, Vice President Kamala Harris, but that is not the entire story.
One of the nation’s top pollsters, Matt Towery, spoke to Fox News host Laura Ingraham where he said that the former president is in a better position in this election with the polls than he was in his previous two elections.
“Well, you know, let me just say this. The polling gurus and predictors are going to start telling you over the next month and a half that Harris is gaining speed in these various battleground states. They’re somehow going to say that she’s gaining speed in the national polls. I’m just going to predict it. They’re going to say that she’s going to win and Trump will lose. It makes no sense,” the pollster said.
“People have to understand. Trump is running way ahead of where he has in the last two cycles that he ran in the national average. I mean, she is much closer than either Biden or, before that, Hillary Clinton. And in these various states, now, you know, everybody has their different way of sampling things. I think all of these states are very tight,” Towery continued.
“But I don’t think there’s any state where anyone has a four or five-point lead right now that’s a battleground state. I just don’t see it, and I don’t believe it,” he said before the host played a clip of Trump voters in New York pleading with undecided voters to vote for the former president.
“Number one, I think the president was very crisp in what his message was, immigration and inflation. In fact, I have an interview with him on Saturday that’s going to air and that was his thing. He goes, that’s my closing argument, immigration and inflation,” Towery noted.
“And what I thought was so interesting is the Nassau Coliseum, Nassau County in particular, it’s a little bit red some cycles, a little bit blue some cycles, but it’s really a battleground area in a very blue state. But the one thing the president should focus on and his guys, make them shorter speeches and right to the point,” he said.
“For example, in Pennsylvania, you know what they care about? It’s not a joke. It’s fracking. Do you know what she says? I’m not against fracking. Do you what’s your administration is doing? They have a pause on fracking right now. To look at the environmental impact of fracking,” the pollster said.
“So, either she’s not involved at all in the administration, wants to condemn Joe Biden for freezing fracking, or she should say to you I am lying about fracking. In Arizona on the wall, point out that in her ad she is sitting in front of — as Donald Trump’s wall talking about how she was prosecuting transnational gangs. Point this stuff out. Don’t be nuanced about it. Be direct. Don’t talk general. Be very direct about some of the things she’s doing. And she doesn’t say anything,” he said.
