A total of 122 illegal immigrants were deported to China this week following a coordinated enforcement effort led by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and the Department of Homeland Security
The June 3 operation involved 96 men and 26 women, with ages ranging from 19 to 68. All had been issued final removal orders and were held in ICE detention facilities across the country prior to their deportation. Several of those removed had been convicted of serious crimes, including murder, rape, drug trafficking, and human smuggling.
“Through our interagency partnerships and coordination across ICE field offices, we have successfully removed these individuals, many who were convicted of egregious crimes,” said ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations Dallas acting Field Office Director Josh Johnson. “This operation not only enhances the public safety of our communities across the U.S. but also strengthens national security. Our colleagues at ICE come to work every day to identify, arrest and remove illegal aliens who attempt to circumvent our nation’s immigrations laws.”
ICE officials highlighted a number of high-profile deportations among the group. These include a 47-year-old man convicted of murder, a 49-year-old man found guilty of drug trafficking, a 27-year-old man with a rape conviction, a 50-year-old woman convicted of bribery, and a 55-year-old man involved in human smuggling.
The deportation was carried out as part of ICE’s routine enforcement actions targeting foreign nationals who have violated U.S. immigration laws. According to ICE, all individuals present in the U.S. unlawfully are subject to arrest and removal, regardless of their country of origin.
The agency emphasized its ongoing commitment to removing individuals who pose a threat to public safety. ICE encourages members of the public to report crimes or suspicious activity by calling the ICE Tip Line at 866-DHS-2-ICE (866-347-2423) or submitting information via its online tip form.
