Theater Begs Forgiveness From Left After Canceling Sold-Out Dave Chappelle Show Just Hours Before Start

It seems as though these days comedian Dave Chappelle gets more headlines for offending a few people than he does for performing, and considering how talented he is, that is a true shame.
The comedian was scheduled to appear at a sold out Minneapolis venue on Wednesday but the owners canceled his show just a few hours before it was set to start after bending to the woke left-wing outrage mob.
And as if that wasn’t bad enough, the venue owners issued a sniveling apology over their “failure to provide a safe space” to people who are mentally incapable of dealing with humor.
BizPac Review reports:
The performance venue, First Avenue, nixed the show, groveling in a statement, “We know we must hold ourselves to the highest standards, and we know we let you down. We are not just a black box with people in it, and we understand that First Ave is not just a room, but meaningful beyond our walls.”
First Avenue said that it had “lost sight of the impact” when it booked Chappelle and then debased itself even further by claiming it believed in providing “diverse voices and the freedom of artistic expression” to its audience while hypocritically silencing the comedian.
“This theater in Minneapolis booked and promoted a live show by Dave Chappelle,” investigative journalist Glenn Greenwald tweeted. “Activists objected, demanding they cancel it because the show ‘harms’ them and puts them in ‘danger.’ The theater capitulated and apologized for the ‘harm.’ The show will now be in a different theater.”

“Within the framework of liberal culture, it is difficult to avoid observing that Chappelle protests like the one in Minneapolis entail overwhelmingly white liberal activists trying to silence one of history’s most brilliant and successful Black comedians,” Greenwald added in another tweet.

Chappelle’s show was moved to Varsity Theater, which is not owned by the cowards at First Venue, who went on to apologize to “staff, artists, and our community.”
They also remarked that “some will not agree with this decision” while encouraging feedback in what was a weak, half-hearted attempt to mollify Chappelle fans who were rightly upset that the show was canceled — for the reason it was canceled.
Breaking: Militant far-left groups in Minneapolis are calling for a violent direct action against Dave Chappelle’s show tonight. They led an onslaught against @FirstAvenue & successfully pressured it to cancel. Now show has moved to the @VarsityTheater. https://t.co/7cgkLuclJy pic.twitter.com/rAMMAYaeJX

In a testament to the popularity of Chappelle, his show sold out in five minutes. But not long after, shrieks to cancel it by the legitimately fascistic left began, with the whiners taking to Change.org to file a petition.
“Dave Chappelle has a record of being dangerous to trans people, and First Avenue has a duty to protect the community. Chappelle’s actions uphold a violent heteronormative culture and directly violate First Avenue’s code of conduct. If staff and guests are held to this standard, performers should be too,” it said.
Silencing a comedian who is most likely more on their side of the political aisle than on the right is “a duty.” ‘Protection of the community.’
The really sad part is that those who are calling on Chappelle to be censored really think they are the real ‘defenders of democracy.’
