RFK Jr Says Leftist Cities Are in Decline Due to Opioids

Democratic presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has proposed a solution to combat homelessness, which has only gotten worse under current Democratic President Biden, by utilizing federal housing vouchers, Fox News reports.

In a video published on Monday, Kennedy stood in front of a homeless camp in San Francisco’s Mission District and highlighted the issue.

Kennedy said that mental illness and drug addiction contribute to homelessness but emphasized that these factors alone do not account for the entire problem.

He pointed out that West Virginia, with one of the highest addiction rates in the country, experiences a lesser homelessness problem compared to other areas.

“This is the Mission District south of Market [Street] and this is one of hundreds of street corners in San Francisco that has been occupied now by the homeless, by plastic shanties, by tents, and by people who are sleeping in the open air,” Kennedy said in front of a tent.

“Part of the problem is mental illness and drug addiction, but it’s not the entire problem,” Kennedy continued. “In fact, we can solve the homeless problem in this country. If you look at West Virginia, it has one of the highest addiction rates in the country but homelessness is a minor problem there.”

Kennedy, who has largely been censored by big tech, argued that addressing homelessness requires more than just addressing mental illness and addiction; it requires providing housing vouchers to those in need.

According to Kennedy, only one in four poor individuals in the country receives housing vouchers. He proposed that the federal government could effectively tackle homelessness by providing homeless individuals with Section 8 vouchers. Kennedy firmly stated that prioritizing housing for Americans is more crucial than funding wars or overseas endeavors.

Kennedy said that approximately 35% of Americans struggle to afford their basic human needs, including transportation, housing, and food.

He emphasized the need to rebuild the nation from the ground up, a commitment he vowed to fulfill, if he becomes president.
