Politico’s “West Wing Playbook” reported on Thursday that in private conversations, President Joe Biden frequently uses vulgar and unpresidential language when referring to former President Donald Trump, with whom he is likely to have a rematch in the upcoming presidential election later this year.
As per Politico’s report, Biden mentioned an incident in which Trump made a remark about Paul Pelosi, former Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s husband, who had been the target of an intruder with a hammer. During a speech in Pennsylvania last month, Biden began to say, “What a sick—” before stopping himself while addressing the crowd.
But in private, according to Politico, Biden does not hold back:
The president has described Trump to longtime friends and close aides as a “sick fuck” who delights in others’ misfortunes, according to three people who have heard the president use the profane description. According to one of the people who has spoke[n] with the president, Biden recently said of Trump: “What a f*cking a*shole the guy is.”
The Trump campaign reacted with an indignant response.
“It’s a shame that Crooked Joe Biden disrespects the presidency both publicly and privately,” campaign adviser Chris LaCivita told Politico. “But then again, it’s no surprise he disrespects the 45th president the same way he disrespects the American people with his failed policies.”
During Trump’s presidency, liberal media types and Democrats faulted Trump for his often brusque language and demeanor.
Biden currently lags behind Trump in seven swing states for the 2024 election, with immigration emerging as a prominent issue that could impact the President’s prospects for winning re-election.
In November’s contest in Arizona (47-43 percent), Georgia (49-41), Michigan (47-42), Nevada (48-40), North Carolina (49-39), Pennsylvania (48-45), and Wisconsin (49-44), Biden is trailing the Republican front-runner by three to ten points, according to a Bloomberg/Morning Consult poll.
The average margin of victory favoring Trump over Biden in all states stands at 48-42, suggesting that Biden’s prospects for winning the upcoming election appear to be limited, Newsweek reported.
Upon closer examination of the findings, a majority, approximately 61 percent, of swing-state voters attributed the increase in migrants crossing the U.S.-Mexico border at least partially to Biden. This far exceeds the 30 percent who held the Trump administration responsible and the 30 percent who pointed fingers at Republicans in Congress.
In the swing states, 52 percent of voters believe that Trump would handle illegal immigration more effectively than Biden, while 30 percent hold the opposite view. That’s a five-point increase from December in the same survey.
