President Donald Trump visited Michigan, a key battleground state that helped him secure the presidency, to celebrate his first 100 days in office.
The president rattled off a list of his accomplishments and vowed to continue to do more.
“We’ve accomplished more in three months than most administrations accomplish in four years or even eight years—and we’re just getting started, believe me,” he said as he encouraged Republicans in Congress to pass a “big, beautiful bill” that would bring the most massive tax cuts in American history and outlaw taxes on tips and overtime.
“I signed an order that will end all of the lawless diversity, equity, and inclusion nonsense all across the government and the private sector. We abolished 60 years of prejudice and hatred with the signing of one order, all approved by the United States Supreme Court. We’re allowed to do it because we are now in a merit-based world. We’re a merit-based country,” the president said.
“Did you ever think you’re going to hear that again? It’s based on merit. If you’ve got the talent, if you’ve got the work, the ethic, the whole thing, it’s based now on — it’s not based on any other thing. It’s based on merit. It’s based on your capability,” President Trump said.
“The United States has now become, again, a meritocracy. Isn’t that a beautiful word? A meritocracy. Based on merit — if you do your job well, you’re going to go places. And I made it the official policy of the United States government that there are only two genders: male and female. Male and female,” the president said.
He also spoke about the district court judges who have attempted to stand in the way of him enacting his agenda.
“We cannot allow a handful of communist, radical Left judges to obstruct the enforcement of our laws and assume the duties that belong solely to the President of the United States,” he said. “Judges are trying to take away the power given to the president to keep our country safe.”
