President-elect Donald Trump knows what he is dealing with when it comes to the Washington DC bureaucracy, and they certainly know what they are dealing with when it comes to him.

That is why his transition to the presidency this time will not be the same as it was in 2016, The Federalist columnist Mollie Hemingway believes.

She appeared on the Fox News show “The Ingraham Angle” on Monday, where she explained to host Laura Ingraham that this time, the president-elect knows who the threats are to his agenda.

In 2016, everyone, including Republicans, was stunned by the victory and was not prepared to staff a White House.

That led to the president-elect appointing some Deep State operatives who were more concerned with their own agendas and thwarting him from being the people he needed them to be in those roles.

“Well, this is what actually makes this transition so different than the 2016 transition, too. That was a surprise to everybody, including the Republicans who won. I think they didn’t realize, the Trump administration the first time didn’t realize how much resistance there would be, not just from the bureaucracy, these unaccountable, unelected bureaucrats, but also the Democrats, who were trying, as Byron noted, to keep Trump from even being inaugurated. But you even had a lot of resistance from those establishment GOP types,” said Hemingway during an interview with Fox News host Laura Ingraham on Tuesday.

“2024 is a completely different ballgame. The incoming Trump team understands where those threats are. They’re working to combat them in different ways. There are probably many ways that permanent, unelected, unaccountable bureaucracy is trying to subvert the will of the people in an unconstitutional fashion,” she added.

“But the team is so much smarter now. They’ve learned so much from that obstruction and resistance of those previous years. So when the problems come, and they will come, they’ll at least be not so surprised by them,” she said.
