A GoFundMe campaign set up to support the victims of the shooting at former President Donald Trump’s rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, successfully raised over $2 million within 14 hours, as reported by the fundraising platform.
The fundraising campaign named “Support For Butler PA Victims – President Trump Authorized,” initiated by Meredith O’Rourke, the Trump campaign’s national finance director, surpassed its $1 million goal by collecting over $2.4 million by Sunday afternoon, as reported on the fundraising site.
“President Donald Trump has authorized this account as a place for donations to the supporters and families wounded or killed in today’s brutal and horrific assassination attempt,” the description of the GoFundMe campaign said. “All donations will be directed to these proud Americans as they grieve and recover. May God bless and unite our nation.”
Since its inception, the fundraiser has received contributions from over 25,000 individuals, as per the fundraising site. Notable donations include $50,000 from UFC President Dana White, $50,000 from musician Kid Rock, $30,000 from former Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy, and $15,000 from Daily Wire host Ben Shapiro, as detailed in the GoFundMe donation records.

According to a family Facebook post, retired Buffalo Township firefighter Corey Comperatore tragically lost his life at the rally while shielding his family. The two other victims, 57-year-old David Dutch and 74-year-old James Copenhaver, are currently in stable condition, as confirmed by a statement from the Pennsylvania state police on Sunday.
“He was a hero that shielded his daughters. His wife and girls just lived through the unthinkable and unimaginable,” Dawn Comperatore Schafer, Corey Comperatore’s sister, said on Facebook. “My baby brother just turned 50 and had so much life left to experience. Hatred has no limits and love has no bounds. Pray for my sister-in-law, nieces, my mother, sister, me and his nieces and nephews as this feels like a terrible nightmare but we know it is our painful reality.”
