‘Free Kamala!’ Kellyanne Conway Calls Out Dems Shielding VP From Media

Former President Donald Trump’s former campaign manager and advisor Kellyanne Conway believes that “misogynist and sexists” in the Democrat Party are stopping Vice President Kamala Harris from doing interviews on her own.

The former advisor to the president appeared on “Fox & Friends” and said that she believes people in the vice president’s campaign do not trust her.

“No question that they don’t trust Kamala Harris enough to speak regularly. This is amazing to me. There’s something exciting about a woman and sexists and misogynists in her campaign are not allowing her to travel alone or to speak on her own extemporaneously to members of the media. Have a town hall, don’t be afraid to take questions. They can make it as friendly as the pep rally that was the Democratic Convention if they want to. But free Kamala already. Let her out. Let us hear from her,” the former campaign manager said.

“And, Ainsley, it’s, you know, let’s get past the laughs and gaffes and get serious here. When she does tell us what her vision is, when she does promise these policies, that’s when she gets truly frightening: 65 percent estate death tax – that’s going to disseminate family businesses up and down this country, 44 percent on capital gains… And then the unrealized gains being taxed? Donald Trump is preparing for every single day by doing things like he did yesterday, facing the cameras, showing everybody the real people impact at the border, of the groceries and gas prices…,” she said.

She appeared as a Fox News contributor on the first night of the Democratic National Convention to forecast her former boss’s prospects against Vice President Kamala Harris.

Co-anchor Bret Baier opened the segment by setting up the situation the 45th president faces: “Has Team Trump, Kellyanne, settled on their attack plan against Kamala Harris and Tim Walz? Has there been, do you think, a uniting of forces here, a change in how they’re approaching this ticket? Because obviously, it’s a new ticket.”

Conway predicted Trump could indeed win again.

“It is new, and look, Donald Trump beat a woman before, and he can beat a woman again, but this woman’s not defined the way Hillary Clinton was. She was seen as sour and dour, she had a lot of people telling pollsters, ‘I don’t think she’s honest or trustworthy, in fact, she’s probably corrupt,’ and she wasn’t seen as fresh and new. She wasn’t seen as part of the old; she barely was part of the old girls’ club to the extent there was one,” the GOP consultant began.

“And I think it’s a different race, a different set, and look, the struggle is not to find the best nickname for her or insult her, I want more insights, fewer insults. I think the way to beat her is very obvious: it’s through policy. And in 2016 when Donald Trump beat Hillary Clinton, a much more formidable, much more experienced woman, the issue set was not as clean,” Conway continued.

“He wanted border security and immigration to be a top issue and couldn’t get it there. He’s the one to introduce it, elevating to the national consciousness, but to international derision, not to the number two issue in all seven swing states and nationwide where it is now. He said he can get growth better and unemployment down and wages up, but those were promises from a business guy and a job creator,” she added. “He did all that. He can point to what he did, performance versus promises. On policy, he wins this hands down.

Continuing, Conway said: “And I do want to say this because we’re going to be reminded of it if and when Joe Biden speaks sometime tonight, Sprat and Joe got in the way of our 2016 victory in 2020 in this way. We had flipped 206 counties that voted for Obama twice. They voted for Trump in 2016. Biden won back five of those, two in Pennsylvania, two in Michigan, one in Wisconsin.

“Why is that important? Because we all know that these elections come down to a handful of votes in about 22, 23 counties. The question is, if Kamala Harris runs too far away from the Biden economic plan, the Biden legacy, will she be seen as too undefined, as too radical, as too San Francisco and not enough Scranton? She’s got to be careful,” she said.
