President-elect Donald Trump has caused a firestorm with his cabinet picks and has shown that his administration will not be frightened of taking on the establishment.
Among the picks that has caused the entrenched deep state actors to go berserk is the selection of “Fox & Friends Weekend” host Pete Hegseth to be the next head of the Department of Defense.
If one were to look at it as a cable news host being promoted for the job it would appear to be controversial, but the fact is that Hegseth is a decorated veteran with degrees from Princeton and Harvard Universities who is more than qualified for the job, and former Utah Republican Rep. Jason Chaffetz, a Fox News contributor, dared Republicans in the Senate to vote against him.
“I think he’ll get easily confirmed,” the former representative said.
“I dare any Republican senator to vote against him. That is not in their best interest. And we need to get him in place as soon as possible. Relief is on the way. This is exactly what I think America was striving for. And I can’t believe how excited I am,” Chaffetz added.
The president-elect made the announcement on Tuesday, where he heralded Hegseth as “smart” and “tough.’
“I am honored to announce that I have nominated Pete Hegseth to serve in my Cabinet as The Secretary of Defense. Pete has spent his entire life as a Warrior for the Troops, and for the Country. Pete is tough, smart and a true believer in America First. With Pete at the helm, America’s enemies are on notice – Our Military will be Great Again, and America will Never Back Down…,” he said.
Republican Speaker of the House and Louisiana Rep. Mike Johnson celebrated the pick as a “great choice.”
“Pete brings a lot to the table. He’s got experience, and I think he’ll be reform-minded in the areas that need reform. So I’m excited about the pick,” he said.
