Fox News contributor Charlie Hurt said that the pardoning of Hunter Biden by his dad President Joe Biden has handed President-elect Donald Trump carte blanche to do something that his base has demanded.
He said that the president-elect should pardon every person who has been prosecuted or imprisoned for their part in the protests at the Capitol on January 6, 2021.
“Should Trump, Charlie, now say the January 6th people — I look at them as my children. So I’m going to pardon all of them,” Fox News host Tom Shillue said on “The Big Weekend Show” to Hurt.
“I do think you know, I think he should at least commute the sentences of all of them and pardoned every single one that was obviously just following the person in front of them wandering through the capital. Pardon every single one of them. There were some that did more than just that. And I think he should commute their sentences and let them all out! Every single one of them,” the Fox News contibutor responded.
“What other pardons we see coming here? Why are we just learning about Hunter and there’s still plenty of time? He’s got another month,” the host said.
“And you know why? Because I was thinking about this. If I were Donald Trump, I would not pardon Hunter Biden, but and which is why Joe Biden has to. Right,” Hurt said.
“I mean, there’s no right because on paper there is no justification for pardoning the guy. The guy’s guilty. He got special treatment. He was still guilty. So it makes no sense. But if you’re his dad and you got him into the jackpot in the first place,” he added.
In a press release announcing the pardon, the president shoved his own Department of Justice in front of the bus and accused it of being weaponized and “selectively” and “unfairly” prosecuting his son.
