Border Czar Homan: Everyone In U.S. Illegally Eligible For Deporation

Tom Homan, whom President-elect Donald Trump has selected as the incoming border czar, stated on Tuesday night that no illegal immigrant in the U.S. would be exempt from deportation under the new administration.
Homan made the comments during a Fox News interview in response to questions about Democratic politicians pledging to obstruct federal immigration officers from deporting dangerous criminal illegal immigrants during Trump’s second term, The Daily Wire notes.
“Out of the gate, we’re concentrating on public safety threats and national security threats,” Homan said. “What politician, whether you’re a mayor or governor, is saying, ‘No, I want public safety threats to remain in my community’? I mean, give me a break.”
Homan argued that Democrats who establish sanctuary policies by refusing to cooperate with federal officials ultimately harm immigrant communities. These policies, he said, result in criminals being released back into those communities, creating unsafe environments.
He added that when ICE agents arrive to deport these criminals, they often encounter other undocumented individuals who were not initially targeted but also end up being deported.
Homan cautioned against granting mass amnesty to undocumented immigrants, warning that doing so would only incentivize illegal immigration and prevent any lasting resolution to the border crisis.
“This country is showing over and over again that if you don’t have consequences, they’re going to keep coming,” he said. “Amnesty means millions of them are going to come saying, ‘look, I can cross the border illegally, I can lose my case in front of an immigration judge, and I still get to stay.’”
He said that all of the millions of illegal aliens who unlawfully crossed the border committed a crime and should be removed from the U.S.
“The law is clear. We’ll give you a due process,” he said. “You can have your day in court, but when you’re ordered removed, you’re going to leave, and we’re going to make you leave.”
“It’s not okay to cross this border. It’s a crime,” Homan later added. “Every illegal alien that crossed that border committed a crime, and it’s not okay for you to be in this country illegally. I don’t go 200 miles an hour to come to this interview tonight because I don’t get a ticket. I don’t lie on my taxes because I don’t want to get tax evasion. Well, it’s not okay to be in this country illegally. So if you’re in the country illegally, you got a problem.”
