CNN resident Republican commentator Scott Jennings wrapped Democrat Michigan Rep. Debbie Dingell with a hilarious quip after she said her party is struggling to find something to stand for.
“Democrats have to stop being against Donald Trump and start being for something. We’ve got to lay out our agenda for what we’re going to do,” the Democrat said.
“I will defend the Democrats. They are for things, illegal aliens. You’re for boys in girls’ sports. I mean, you are for things,” Jennings quipped.
“And that’s why you have such struggles right now in your party, because you’re not for anything that’s on the right side of any of the 80/20 issues that are driving this cultural divide in America. I think Wes Moore is actually a pretty talented communicator,” he said.
“The other person who spoke in South Carolina, Tim Walz, is this special mixture of extreme buffoonery and a mean spirit, which is a toxic brew. He is not the future of the Democratic Party. Moore is interesting. Moore is interesting, probably more interesting than some of the radicals you have out there, Crockett, AOC,” the Republican said.
“I mean, these are the true leaders of your party right now, but you would probably be better off replacing them with Moore,” he said.
Jennings’ comments came on the same weekend that CNN senior data analyst Harry Enten said that Republicans are leading on the issue of the economy.
“The party that is closest to your economic views. In November of 2023, it was the Republicans by 11 points. Now it’s still within that range, still within that margin of error, plus eight point advantage for the Republican Party,” the data analyst said.
“How is that possible, Democrats? How is that possible after all the recession fears, after the stock markets been doing all of this, after all the tariffs that Americans are against, and Republicans still hold an eight point lead on the economy. Are you kidding me?” he said.
