White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre did not answer questions on why Democratic Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot’s re-election bid failed, with the press sec apparently blaming Republicans for the increase in crime across the US.

Jean Pierre said that she was not going to answer questions on the race after she was asked about crime rate increases and Lightfoot’s loss.

Jean Pierre would then go on to blame the Republicans for the increase in crime.

“So let me just first speak to the mayor’s race. What the president is committed to working with whomever the people in Chicago or the people on the ground, whichever, if it’s a city or state, whomever they choose to represent them,” Jean-Pierre said. “So that is the case and will continue to be the case. And so I’m going to withhold commenting on any specific race.”

She would then go on to praise President Biden’s so-called accomplishments.

“When you think about the COPS program, which is something that the president put forward, they have wanted to defund that, to take that away. And if you think about that, that leads to defunding the police,” Jean-Pierre said. “Just recently, they called on defunding the FBI. And you think about the border security funding. They want to take that away as well.”

Lightfoot also refused to take blame for her election loss, telling news outlets that shehe lost her re-election bid because of racism and sexism.

Lori Lightfoot was crushed in tonight’s Chicago mayoral race and didn’t even make the runoff. 84% of Chicagoans voted against her. 84%! That level of incompetence is tough to pull off for an incumbent. Congrats to her.

Lightfoot said, “I’m a black woman in America. Of course,” adding that being Chicago mayor was the “honor of a lifetime.”

“Regardless of tonight’s outcome, we fought the right fights and we put this city on a better path,” Lightfoot said.

Lightfoot was officially eliminated from Chicago’s mayoral race yesterday, having not qualified for the run-off election, after coming in third.
