Top-rated Fox News host Tucker Carlson on Wednesday praised a spiritual revival taking place at a Kentucky university, describing it as “amazing” to the student body president who appeared on his program to discuss it.
Carlson said that the nonstop Christian meeting at Asbury University in Wilmore is much-needed in today’s world, noting that it is becoming harder not to describe the things that are happening in theological terms – good vs. evil.
In the interview, Carlson told student leader Alison Perfater that much of what is taking place is simply “pure evil.”
“And the good news is a lot of people are starting to think about what happens when you die, and they’re becoming much more interested in the spiritual life, which has been basically extinguished in the public square for a long time,” Carlson offered, going on to show footage from a meeting at Hughes Auditorium on the campus where people were worshipping and praising Gog through prayer and music at all hours of the day and night.
“What is this?” Carlson asked the student leader.
“That’s the question, right?” Perfater replied.

“A theme or a Bible verse that we’ve all been sharing with each other is Habakkuk 1, and the Lord says, ‘Look at the nations and watch, for I am doing something in your day that you wouldn’t believe if you were told.’ And it’s happening, and we can hardly believe it,” Perfater said.
Today is the eighth day of a spontaneous rival service at Asbury University in Wilmore, Ky. Thousands have come from all over the country to be part of this. The response has been so overwhelming, the university has had to open overflow rooms in other chapels on campus. #WKYT pic.twitter.com/9N7nM5Jd7t

Carlson went on to say that the event began during a routine chapel service when a young man got up and spontaneously confessed some sins, thereby changing the entire atmosphere.
Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk also posted a video clip from the ongoing gathering.

“That’s completely what happened,” Perfater said. “For seemingly no reason at first, on Wednesday, February 8, it didn’t end. That’s kind of the logistical side of what’s been going on.”
“On the deeper side of things, what’s been happening here since Wednesday is there’s a young army of believers who are rising to claim Christianity, the faith, as their own, as a young generation and as a free generation, and that’s why people cannot get enough,” she said.
“That’s amazing,” Carlson said in response, adding that “everything finds equilibrium.”

Perfater then noted that the lockdowns of 2020 impacted her generation quite a bit.
“And so you have to wonder, ‘What’s going to break?’ In this case, the Holy Spirit has interceded for us here at Asbury and across the nation,” she said.

NBC News reported Wednesday that students and faculty from at least 22 other universities have also gone to Asbury to experience the revival personally.
