Trump’s Approval Higher After Election As He Eyes Inauguration

President-elect Donald Trump and President Joe Biden could not be any further apart than they are.

Not only in terms of policy and vision for the future of the United States but in terms of popularity.

A new Gallup poll showed that while President Biden’s popularity is cratering the president-elect’s popularity is climbing.

The polls, which was released on December 27 showed that the president-elect has a positive approval rating heading into 2025, with 51 percent of people surveyed saying they approve of how has handled the transition to the presidency compared to 44 percent who do not approve.

His approval rating among Republicans is a whopping 97 percent compared to the same group in 2016 who gave him an 86 approval rating.

Another recent Gallup poll showed that the President Biden has a dismal 39 percent approval rating.

The poll showed that since “at least 2010, the nation has been stuck in a public opinion rut. Presidential job approval has rarely surpassed 50%, congressional job approval hasn’t exceeded 36%, and except for a brief period before the pandemic in 2020, less than 40% of Americans have expressed satisfaction with the direction of the country.”

The final Gallup poll of 2024, showed Congress with an even worse approval rating with a tragic 17 percent approving of its performance, and showed only 20% of Americans are satisfied with the direction of the nation.

A stain on his presidency, many believe, was created when he pardoned his own son with more protection than was given to former President Richard Nixon.

Another poll, done by Harvard CAPS/Harris showed that 54% of registered U.S. voters approve of Trump as president-elect, while 40% disapprove. Among Republicans, his approval soars to 91%. Independent voters show a 49% approval rate, whereas only 22% of Democrats support him at this stage.

The poll also indicates that 75% of Democrats disapprove of Trump, as do 40% of Independents. Meanwhile, Trump is swiftly assembling his cabinet for his second term, with notable appointments such as former GOP Chairwoman Elise Stefanik as UN Ambassador, Pete Hegseth as Secretary of Defense, and former Rep. Matt Gaetz as Attorney General.

The survey found that Trump enjoys a plurality of support across several age groups, including those aged 18 to 24, 25 to 34, 35 to 44, and 45 to 54.
