A massive shift in a national pull as former President Donald Trump surging ahead of Democrat presidential candidate, Vice President Kamala Harris.
The poll conducted by ActiVote between October 3 and October 8 sifted by seven points and now has the former president, the Republican presidential candidate, with a lead of 1.2 percent over the vice president, giving him 50.6 percent of the vote to the vice president’s 49.4 percent.
In a poll by the same company taken three weeks ago, between September 11 and September 17, the former president was trailing the Democrat nominee by 6.6 points at 47.3 percent to 52.7 percent.
A newly released Quinnipiac University poll shows that Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump is gaining significant traction in crucial battleground states, including Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Wisconsin. According to the poll, Trump has seen a huge surge in Michigan, leads in Wisconsin, and is narrowly behind Democratic candidate Vice President Kamala Harris in Pennsylvania.
In Michigan, Trump has risen by three percentage points since the last Quinnipiac poll on September 18, now holding 50% support compared to Harris’s 47%. In Wisconsin, Trump leads with 48% to Harris’s 46%. In Pennsylvania, Harris holds a slight edge with 49% compared to Trump’s 46%.
Quinnipiac also asked voters about which candidate they believed would “do a better job” on seven key issues, and Trump outperformed Harris in most categories except for abortion. On issues like the economy, immigration, upholding democracy, foreign policy, and crisis management, Trump scored higher than Harris.
Here’s a breakdown of the results by issue and state (Trump’s numbers listed first, for Michigan and Wisconsin):
- Economy: 54/45 and 53/44
- Immigration: 53/44 and 52/44
- Preserving democracy: 49/48 and 47/48
- Abortion: 40/52 and 39/53
- Middle East conflict: 53/43 and 51/44
- Commander-in-chief of the military: 52/46 and 51/45
- Handling a national crisis: 52/46 and 49/47
Despite extensive media attention on Harris’s debate performance, she received no post-debate bounce, according to the poll. While some viewers in the 67-million-person audience initially thought Harris won the debate, later analysis suggested that many felt ABC News moderators David Muir and Linsey Davis were biased against Trump.
The poll also indicated a decline in Democratic mail-in voting enthusiasm in the three battleground states, signaling potential challenges for Harris.
