President Donald Trump faced off against Vice President Kamala Harris at the presidential debates hosted by ABC on Tuesday, with Trump having to take on not only against his political opponent, but also against his opponents in the media.
The moderators, David Muir and Linsey Davis, were panned by viewers who noticed that Trump was being fact checked throughout the night while Harris was able to get away with blatant lies.
The debate started with Harris claiming she was raised in a middle class family after being asked if Americans were better off today than they were four years ago. Harris stated that she had a plan for Americans, but provided no details of that plan in her answer.
During questions on abortion, moderators rebuked claims by Trump that there was no state that allowed abortion after birth, despite comments by Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam (D) endorsing the killing of infants who have been born.
Gov. Ralph Northam (D) endorses killing born-alive infants: "If a mother is in labor, I can tell you exactly what would happen. The infant would be delivered. The infant would be kept comfortable. The infant would be resuscitated if that’s what the mother and the family desired" pic.twitter.com/gIwFDQ8raC

This was never brought up and instead moderators moved on.
David Muir is criticizing and attacking Trump more than Kamala is.
Kamala can relax because the ABC "moderators" are handling the debate for her.

The statement was accurate, as several states, including Minnesota, where Harris’s running mate, Gov. Tim Walz (D-MN), is from, do not mandate life-saving care for babies born after failed abortion attempts. However, this did not prevent ABC News moderator Linsey Davis from interrupting to assert, “There is no state in this country where it is legal to kill the baby after it’s born.”
The moderators didn't fact check Kamala Harris on:
-the “fine people” Charlottesville hoax
-on IVF
-Project 2025
-bloodbath hoax
But they keep “fact-checking” Trump. This is a set up

Things deteriorated further from there. Davis’s co-moderator, David Muir, engaged in a back-and-forth with Trump over disputed anecdotal stories about Haitian illegal immigrants in Springfield, Ohio, allegedly eating local pets.

Beyond their out-of-context fact-checking, Muir and Davis seemed to use their platform to repeatedly ask Trump biased questions that appeared as if they could have been drafted by the Harris campaign.
Harris just claimed Trump called white supremacists "very fine people" after Charlottesville.
0 fact-check from the moderators.

Meanwhile, the self-proclaimed fact-checkers failed to apply the same level of scrutiny to the vice president, effectively turning the debate into a three-on-one partisan attack.
Trump is practically getting his farts fact-checked and Kamala is allowed to repeat:
“Very fine people”
“Bloodbath”
“He promises to be a dictator on day one”
“Project 2025”This is why she only agreed to ABC lmao

Whether discussing Trump’s comments on Harris’s race, the events of January 6th, the 2020 election, or climate change, Muir and Davis consistently framed the debate with a clear partisan slant.
This was something that Trump was aware of, as the former president said the night before that he would be headed into “hostile territory” by participating in the event.
