In a post on Truth Social, Donald Trump accused Vice President Kamala Harris of lying to the American public about President Joe Biden’s mental decline and demanded she address Biden’s fitness to serve.

“Does Lyin’ Kamala Harris think Joe Biden is fit to run the USA for the next six months? She must answer the question. Now it appears Joe is delegating his Presidential Authority to unelected Washington Bureaucrats! He doesn’t even trust his Vice President. WHO IS RUNNING THE COUNTRY?” Trump posted.

Vice President Harris has not commented on President Biden’s fitness to remain in office, according to Fox News. This silence follows rising speculation over Biden’s health, with the president making limited public appearances aside from a phone call to Harris and the campaign team in Delaware.

Fox News reported that reporters have repeatedly sought Harris’ response on whether Biden is fit to serve as president. Harris, as vice president, holds the authority to invoke the 25th Amendment if Biden is deemed unfit to fulfill his duties.

Biden announced his withdrawal from the presidential race on Sunday via a letter on X, but has not been seen publicly since. During the phone call, Biden assured his team, “The name has changed at the top of the ticket, but the mission hasn’t changed at all. And by the way, I’m not going anywhere.”

Biden explained that stepping down was the “right decision” and urged the campaign to support Harris as the new presidential candidate. Late Monday, Harris secured enough delegates to become the presumptive nominee ahead of the Democratic National Convention, according to an AP survey.

Biden’s last public appearance was over a week ago, following a reported Covid-19 diagnosis. On Monday, White House doctor Kevin O’Connor stated, “President Biden completed his tenth dose of PAXLOVID this morning. His symptoms have almost resolved completely. His pulse, blood pressure, respiratory rate, and temperature remain absolutely normal. His oxygen saturation continues to be excellent on room air. His lungs remain clear.”
