Texas Law Enforcement Raid Captures Nearly 120 Illegal Aliens, Including Six-Time Deported MS-13 Murder Suspect

A major law enforcement operation in Plum Grove, Texas, led to the arrest of nearly 120 illegal aliens, including an alleged MS-13 gang member wanted for murder. Authorities executed the operation on Monday, detaining 118 illegal immigrants, among them 34-year-old Luis Miguel Perez-Miranda of El Salvador.

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS), Homeland Security, and the Liberty County Sheriff’s Office carried out the operation. Perez-Miranda was being sought for allegedly murdering a man in the Colony Ridge neighborhood near Houston. He was later apprehended and booked into the Liberty County Jail.

“Despite attempts by some to spread false information and rumors about the brave men and women who work for ICE, they continue to come in to work every day and put their own lives at risk to make our communities safer,” ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations Houston Field Office Director Bret Bradford said.

“Without their incredible sacrifice and commitment to execute their mission at the highest level, this dangerous MS-13 gang member who allegedly butchered an innocent man earlier in the day would still be at large in the community, posing a potential threat to every Houstonian he encountered.”

According to ICE, Perez-Miranda had illegally entered the U.S. at least seven times and had been expelled in August 2021. He had previously been deported to El Salvador in September 2009, August 2014, July 2016, March 2019, and March 2023. His criminal record includes convictions for drug trafficking, drug possession, and illegal entry into the U.S.

Early Monday morning, Texas Governor Greg Abbott announced that state authorities, in collaboration with the Department of Homeland Security, were conducting an immigration enforcement operation in Colony Ridge.

“Colony Ridge is being targeted today,” Abbott posted on X.

Colony Ridge, located less than an hour from Houston, is a large housing development that markets itself in Spanish, offering land with low down payments. Reports indicate the area has a high population of illegal immigrants, significant cartel activity, and minimal law enforcement presence.

Border czar Tom Homan told Fox News that the operation was part of a broader investigation into criminal networks, with many suspects residing in Colony Ridge.

Homan emphasized that authorities were pursuing specific individuals involved in criminal activity. “It wasn’t a community being targeted,” he said. “We have specific targets we are looking for. We know exactly what we are looking for and the crimes they had committed during this operation.”

Homan further stated that several illegal migrants had outstanding warrants and were arrested at worksites, while others were detained during DPS traffic stops.
