Mandy Gunasekara, who was the chief of the Environmental Protection Agency during the presidency of former President Donald Trump and who authored part of the Project 2025 document, has made a stunning admission.

As the campaign of Democrat presidential nominee, Vice President Kamala Harris and other prominent Democrats attempt to tie the former president to the document she said that he did not have anything to do with it.

She spoke to Democrat Maryland Rep. Jamie Raskin at an Oversight Committee hearing on Thursday when she said that the former president was not, and is not, involved with Project 2025 before she teed off on the environmental policies of the administration of President Joe Biden and Vice President Harris.

“Ranking member Raskin, you reiterated and have created a boogeyman that just isn’t there. I did author the EPA chapter on Project 2025, but in the course of that, I did not work with President Trump, with any of the people who work for him directly, or his campaign,” Gunasekara noted.. “It is very misleading to suggest that there is any coordination there because I can personally tell you it did not happen. And I am not vying for a position in the next administration, I’ve actually left DC and moved to a small town in Mississippi where I interact every day with people who live outside this bubble of gaslighting, people who deal with the consequences of policy decisions made by this administration.”

“The Heritage Foundation has been involved with pushing forward conservative policies for quite a while…and is more committed to representing the position of the broader conservative movement than any one candidate or person,” the former chief said.

“I understand why you create this boogieman because your leading candidate is running away from policy actions she has taken that make Americans’ lives much more difficult,” she added.
