A recently released police call recording from August reveals a Springfield, Ohio resident reporting to authorities about Haitian immigrants capturing geese in the city.
The Federalist obtained the recording and the related police report.
“I’m sitting here, I’m riding on the trail, I’m going to my orientation for my job today, and I see a group of Haitian people, there was about four of ’em, they all had geese in their hands,” the caller stated to the police dispatcher in the audio recording.
The caller reported this incident on August 26, well before Springfield, a Columbus suburb located about 50 miles from the state capital, became associated with the disarray and lack of immigration policy enforcement under the Biden-Harris administration. In the report, the caller described seeing four illegal immigrants—two men and two women—each holding a goose as they walked away.
“I was trying to get my phone out and I was trying to make it to this orientation on time,” the caller explained, emphasizing his urgency. “I’m time crunching here, and I saw that, I’m like, ‘Yeah this has got to be reported,’” he told the police dispatcher. When asked, “how many” geese were involved, the caller replied, “Uh, they each had one.”
The caller pinpointed the exact location of the incident at the intersection of Water and Warder Street, which the police report later verified.
Springfield has been significantly affected by the Biden-Harris administration’s Cuba-Haiti-Nicaragua-Venezuela (CHNV) parole program, which has been criticized for being plagued with fraud. Despite the Department of Homeland Security briefly halting the program due to internal concerns, it has since resumed, continuing to allow illegal immigrants into the U.S.
Residents in Springfield have spoken out about the issue, describing the illegal immigrants catching and killing local animals in public spaces. “These Haitians are running into trash cans. They’re running into buildings. They’re flipping cars in the middle of the street, and I don’t know how like, y’all can be comfortable with this,” resident Anthony Harris said to city officials last month. “They’re in the park, grabbing up ducks by the neck and cutting their heads off and eating them.”
There are numerous reports from Springfield residents who insist that the Haitian immigrants are capturing geese for consumption. Other residents have also spoken about feeling terrorized by the surge of illegal immigrants in their community.
