The woman who is the heiress to the Disney empire, Abigail Disney, said that she will stop donating to the Democrat party if President Joe Biden is not removed from the ticket.
The granddaughter of Roy O. Disney said to CNBC that she intends “to stop any contributions to the party unless and until they replace Biden at the top of the ticket.”
“This is realism, not disrespect. Biden is a good man and has served his country admirably, but the stakes are far too high,” the heiress said.
“If Biden does not step down, the Democrats will lose. Of that I am absolutely certain. The consequences for the loss will be genuinely dire,” she said.
And she is not the only donor sounding the alarm.
Netflix co-founder and Democrat donor Reed Hastings said that the president should step aside when he spoke to The New York Times.
“Biden needs to step aside to allow a vigorous Democratic leader to beat Trump and keep us safe and prosperous,” he said.
Endeavor chief Ari Emanuel also shared his frustration with the president and with the founders of the nation.
“Well, I’m pissed off at the founding fathers,” the CEO said at the Aspen Ideas Festival. “They had the start date of 35 years old, they just didn’t give us the end date. And, well, everybody died [back then], so they didn’t have to give the end date.”
He also accused the president’s advisers of hiding the whole truth about Biden’s physical stamina and mental acuity. “I had a father who died at 92, but at 81 I took away his car, and it was a very simple test for me,” the CEO said.
“If you were driving from downtown Beverly Hills to Malibu, would you want Biden to do it at night? Would you want Trump to do it at night? If the answer is neither, you cannot have them running a $27 trillion company called the United States,” he said.
