Liberal NY, NJ and CA Top List of States People Moved Away From in 2020

New York, New Jersey, Illinois, Connecticut and California topped the list of states where the most people moved away from in 2020.
The Washington Examiner reports that data gathered by the Tax Foundation shows that Idaho, South Carolina, Oregon, South Dakota, and Arizona saw the highest proportion of inbound moves.

The foundation noted, “7 of the top 10 states ranked for inbound migration also rank in the top half of states on the 2021 State Business Tax Climate Index, which measures tax structure.”
As the Examiner notes, California is actually at risk of losing an electoral vote due to the massive number of residents leaving the state. New York is also facing the loss of two House seats for the same reason.
“In both cases, strict coronavirus lockdowns were listed as contributing factors to the population decline, and residents in both states have staged large protests in defiance of the restrictions imposed by elected officials,” writes the Examiner.
