Pop star Katy Perry has never been shy about her support of Democrat candidates and she appears to still be smarting from the election defeat of her favored candidate, Vice President Kamala Harris, to President-elect Donald Trump.
“This is @kamalaharris. She’s gonna be… well… We’re the only ones who can finish this sentence 🗳️🇺🇸 VOTE!” she said in a post on Instagram with a video of her and the vice president together when she was a senator to show her support.
In the video she said Harris was “one of my favorite senators,” though it would be stunning if the singer could name five more senators.
She even performed and spoke at a rally for the vice president in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
“Four years ago, I became a mother,” she said to the audience. “Best decision I ever made. Orlando [Bloom] and I, we welcomed our daughter Daisy and she is the reason I am voting for Kamala Harris.”
“Just watch ‘Idiocracy’ the movie that’s all,” the 40-year-old singer said in a post on X, formerly Twitter, in an apparent attempt to link the election of the Republican to a movie about a dystopian future where dumb people are in charge.
But the comparison was destroyed by those who commented on the post who explained that the president-elect just stopped “Idiocracy” from continuing.
“It reminds me of the last 4 years,” Republican activist Scott Presler said in response. “I voted for Trump in Pennsylvania.”
“Funny how you don’t realize this actually applies to your side of the aisle. Or how about watch ‘Don’t look up.’ Accurately describes the left to a tee,” Another person said
And another said, “The fact you’re saying this and don’t get it, in fact think you’re proving a point that you actually aren’t but are reinforcing what those who live in reality know….sorry, let me dumb that down, yes, we’ve watched it, and the past 4 years of Biden and people like you defending him are a stark reminder of it.”
