A trans Indiana high school student has been charged with plotting a mass shooting on Valentine’s Day, which marks the anniversary of the 2018 Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School shooting in Parkland, Florida.
Trinity J. Shockley, 18, is being held without bond at the Morgan County Jail. Shockley was charged Thursday in Morgan Superior Court 1 with conspiracy to commit murder, a Level 1 felony, and two counts of intimidation with a threat to commit terrorism, according to court documents obtained by Fox News Digital.
Shockley, who identifies as a transgender man and goes by Jamie or Dex, allegedly planned an attack on Mooresville High School. The FBI in Indianapolis received a tip and contacted the Mooresville Metropolitan Police Department (MMPD) to investigate. In a statement to Fox News Digital, the FBI said it “swiftly coordinated” with local authorities to assess the threat.
During a search of Shockley’s residence, authorities reportedly found a “shrine” dedicated to mass shooters, including Nikolas Cruz, Dylann Roof, and Ethan Crumbley. Court documents indicate Shockley also had a photo album and buttons featuring images of these individuals.
Law enforcement also recovered notebooks in which Shockley allegedly expressed violent thoughts. One entry dated December 16, 2024, stated: “Dex… a transgender male [who has] a lot of homicidal thoughts,” adding, “These thoughts never seem to stop, you may believe that I am some edgelord, but in reality, I am just a loser.” Another entry read: “You all need to be burnt out, killed, wiped away from humanity.”
Authorities also reviewed messages from Shockley’s Discord and Snapchat accounts, where conversations reportedly detailed plans for an attack. Shockley’s Discord username was allegedly “Crazy Nikolaz.”
The investigation is ongoing.
