Representatives Jim Jordan and Jason Smith are leading the effort to uncover the truth behind a crucial meeting that occurred on October 7, 2022.
According to the Daily Mail, the meeting brought to the forefront key details about the Hunter Biden case. In that meeting, David Weiss, the top prosecutor in the case, purportedly stated that he was not the final decision-maker regarding charges against Hunter Biden.

The individuals subpoenaed include IRS Director of Field Operations Michael T Batdorf, IRS Special Agent in Charge Darrell J Waldon, FBI Special Agent in Charge Thomas J Sobocinski, and FBI Assistant Special Agent in Charge Ryeshia Holley, as reported by The Hill.
Of this group, Waldon, Sobocinski, and Holley were reportedly present during the pivotal October meeting. Batdorf, meanwhile, was informed about the meeting through an email from IRS whistleblower Gary Shapley, who testified that he expressed concerns during the meeting but was subsequently sidelined from the case.

Shapleyâs testimony indicated that during the October meeting, Weiss revealed that he faced hindrances from Biden appointees in both DC and California, impeding his ability to bring charges against Hunter.
However, Weiss contradicted this claim in a July letter, asserting that he was ânever denied the authority to bring charges in any jurisdiction.â
Weiss, recently appointed as special counsel in the Hunter Biden investigation by Attorney General Merrick Garland, had been investigating Hunter Biden since 2018.
Jordan and Smith, in a joint statement on Monday, expressed their commitment to seeking answers in this matter. They highlighted the significance of the testimony from IRS whistleblowers who raised concerns about potential political interference in the investigation into Hunter Bidenâs tax evasion and foreign influence peddling.
The lawmakers voiced frustration at the Biden administrationâs reluctance to cooperate, stating that their duty is to uncover the truth.
