Hoodie-wearing Sen. John Fetterman (D-Pa.), who has dressed like a hobo more often than not when showing up for work in the nation’s capital, actually had the gall to criticize other members of Congress by suggesting the county wasn’t sending “their best and brightest” to Washington, D.C., during an appearance on Stephen Colbert’s late-night show Wednesday evening.
“Oh my God, the world is going to burn because he’s going to wear a hoodie on the floor,” he said at one point, mocking the uproar over his flouting of the dress code in Congress.
“Ukraine or shutting down the government, all these issues. I think it’s much more important to see is, what will this man wear on the floor of the Senate?” he added.
“Is it awkward to be in the Capitol and then run into people that you have put up a devastating meme about because you’ve got excellent meme game. But then you have to see these people in the cafeteria,” Colbert asked at another point during the interview.
“You all should need to know that America is not sending their best and brightest to Washington, D.C.,” Fetterman replied, sending the audience into an appreciative fit of laughter.
“Sometimes you literally just can’t believe. These people are making the decisions that are determining the government here,” he added. “It’s actually scary.”
He then recalled the recent near-miss on keeping the government open, noting that if one senator had voted against the 45-day continuing resolution, the government would have shut down — as it has dozens of times before.
“You have some very less gifted kinds of people there that are willing to shut down the government just to score points on Fox,” he said.
Fetterman got savaged on social media for his dripping irony.
I, for once, agree with John Fetterman 😂

You’re got to give credit where credit is due.
Self-awareness is the first step to self improvement.
Although in his case, it’s a really big first step.
