Gutfeld, Rivera Go At It Hot And Heavy Over EVs: ‘I AM Attacking You – You Deserve It!’

On Wednesday’s episode of “The Five,” Fox News host Greg Gutfeld lost his temper with fellow co-host Geraldo Rivera, admonishing him for his comment on Gutfeld’s EV selection and implying that he was out of touch.

Rivera dismissed President Joe Biden’s recent proposal to push Americans towards EVs, which includes tighter emissions regulations from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). He stated that he would just opt for an electric Bentley as his next vehicle.

Gutfeld appeared to have great difficulty in holding back his angst, leading co-host Judge Jeanine Pirro to prompt him for his input on the matter.

“I’m trying to control myself,” Gutfeld said.

“Why?” asked Rivera.

“Because you just said EV Bentley,” Gutfeld said, which promoted a laugh from co-host Jesse Watters. “You just explained why people like you find it so easy to sermonize about electric vehicles — because you can afford it.”

“Are you attacking me?” Rivera asked.

“Yes, I am attacking you. You deserve it,” the “Gutfeld!” host continued.

Rivera then briefly interrupted to say he was reserving the right to counterattack once Gutfeld finished his point.

“Well, no, the thing is — what I’m pointing out is you said ‘EV Bentley’ to our audience, right? Who has to pay for the charging stations? Our audience, right? Who has to pay for the transition from gas to electric stoves? Our audience,” Gutfeld said.

“Who has to pay for the cancer they get when they — from the gas-powered cars?” Rivera interrupted.

“The transition — ah, God, you don’t even have the science to back that up,” Gutfeld added. “You have to bear the brunt of your beliefs. You don’t, because you can afford an EV Bentley. We’re telling our audience to suck on it.”

Rivera changed the subject by inquiring about Gutfeld’s car, and Gutfeld responded by disclosing that he owned a Chrysler, which had cost him $45,000. “It’s no Bentley,” he said.

Rivera attempted to steer the conversation in a different direction by reminiscing about the air pollution he experienced when he first relocated to California, saying that it had been so thick that he couldn’t see across the freeway. However, Gutfeld countered his argument.

“You stepped in it,” he said, but added, “I’ll back off. I’m going to back off.”
