President Donald Trump lit into the legacy media Thursday, just moments after Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth wrapped a press conference meant to set the record straight on the U.S. military’s strikes against Iranian nuclear targets.
The president didn’t hold back, jumping on Truth Social to call Hegseth’s remarks “one of the greatest, most professional, and most ‘confirming’ News Conferences I have ever seen!” He also demanded accountability from the so-called journalists who ran with bogus intel: “The Fake News should fire everyone involved in this Witch Hunt, and apologize to our great warriors, and everyone else!”
Trump had already fired a warning shot earlier that day, writing, “Rumor is that the Failing New York Times and Fake News CNN will be firing the reporters who made up the FAKE stories on the Iran Nuclear sites because they got it so wrong. Let’s see what happens?”
Hegseth used his time at the podium to torch the media’s narrative, accusing them of being so obsessed with attacking Trump that they were willing to discredit the brave service members who actually carried out the mission.
President Trump wasn’t done. He took direct aim at reports that claimed nuclear materials were being moved before the strike. Trump shut it down immediately, saying, “The cars and small trucks at the site were those of concrete workers trying to cover up the top of the shafts. Nothing was taken out of facility. Would take too long, too dangerous, and very heavy and hard to move!”
And then, with zero sugar-coating, Trump dropped the hammer once more:
“FAKE NEWS REPORTERS FROM CNN & THE NEW YORK TIMES SHOULD BE FIRED, IMMEDIATELY!!! BAD PEOPLE WITH EVIL INTENTIONS!!!”
No walking it back. No spin. Just Trump, telling it like it is — and exposing the media for what they’ve become.
