Donald Trump to Appear on Joe Rogan’s Podcast

Former President Donald Trump, the GOP nominee, is set to make an appearance on Joe Rogan’s popular podcast, according to Politico’s announcement on Tuesday. The episode will be recorded in Austin, Texas, at Rogan’s studio this Friday.

Rogan’s podcast, which boasts over 14 million followers on Spotify, is among the most popular in the United States. In a strategic pivot, Trump has shifted his campaign efforts toward smaller podcasts where he can directly connect with voters, particularly in regions where traditional mainstream networks have less influence. However, Rogan’s reach surpasses all others.

This will mark Trump’s first appearance on Rogan’s podcast, despite a complicated relationship between the two. In August, Trump criticized Rogan after the podcaster praised Robert Kennedy Jr., claiming that most politicians are manipulative except for Kennedy. Trump posted, “It will be interesting to see how loudly Joe Rogan gets BOOED the next time he enters the UFC Ring??? MAGA2024.” Rogan, a UFC commentator, had been critical of Trump in the past, calling him an “existential threat to democracy” in July 2022.

With Election Day less than two weeks away when the episode airs and early voting underway in many states, this appearance could influence undecided voters.

Just last week, during an appearance on the Nelk Boys’ Full Send podcast, Trump hinted that he would be on Rogan’s show. “You’re doing a lot of podcasts recently. One that I would love to see you on, I think Joe Rogan has to have you on. Would you do that?” Trump was asked.

“I think I’m doing it, actually,” Trump replied, praising Rogan for having a “good voice.” At that time, no date had been set, and Rogan had previously expressed his reluctance to host Trump, stating, “I’m not a Trump supporter in any way, shape or form. I’ve had the opportunity to have him on my show more than once—I’ve said no, every time.”

Rogan shared these views during a conversation with Lex Fridman, adding, “I don’t want to help him. I’m not interested in helping him.”

Shortly after Trump’s comments on the Nelk Boys podcast, reports emerged that Harris was also considering appearing on Rogan’s show.

More recently, Rogan has spoken positively about Trump, noting that the economy under his administration “did really well” and that Trump “tried to cut some of the bullshit down that’s going on in this country.” Trump and Rogan have also had amicable interactions at UFC events in recent months and share mutual allies, including RFK, who endorsed Trump after suspending his presidential campaign, and tech billionaire Elon Musk.

Reuters reported, based on anonymous sources, that members of Harris’ campaign team had initiated discussions with Rogan’s production team, though no appearance has been confirmed.

Harris has been making the rounds on the podcast and late-night show circuits, appearing on Call Her Daddy, The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, and with radio host Howard Stern.
