After far-left Boston Mayor Michelle Wu appeared to compare ICE agents to Nazis, the Department of Homeland Security hit back hard—calling the remarks “sickening.”
“I don’t know of any police department that routinely wears masks. We know that there are other groups that routinely wear masks. NSC-131 routinely wears masks,” Wu told reporters.
A reporter immediately followed up:
“Mayor, just to clarify, are you comparing ICE to — you said — to NSC-131, a neo-Nazi group? Are you comparing them to a neo-Nazi group?”
Wu didn’t walk it back.
“What I said is that Boston police, and no police department that I know of at the local level, routinely wears masks,” she answered.
That was enough for DHS to issue a public rebuke.
“Mayor Wu comparing ICE agents to neo-Nazis is SICKENING,” DHS wrote on X. “When our heroic law enforcement officers conduct operations, they clearly identify themselves as law enforcement while wearing masks to protect themselves from being targeted by known and suspected gang members, murderers, and rapists. Attacks and demonization of our brave law enforcement is WRONG. ICE officers are now facing a 413% increase in assaults.”
The White House also weighed in, pointing to ICE’s recent enforcement actions in Massachusetts.
“ICE just conducted its largest ever immigration enforcement operation across Massachusetts and Mayor Wu’s city of Boston, where they arrested nearly 800 illegals with criminal records,” the White House said.
“The streets of Boston and the surrounding area are safer today thanks to the men and women of ICE. Mayor Wu’s disgusting demonization of ICE agents is part of the reason why they’re seeing a massive uptick in doxing, assaults and death threats. She should be ashamed of herself.”
One of the top fundraisers behind Michelle Wu’s 2021 mayoral campaign was tied directly to the Chinese Communist Party’s intelligence arm.
Gary Yu, who helped raise $300,000 for Wu as co-chair of the New England Chinese American Alliance, is also linked to the CCP’s United Front Work Department—an organization known for spreading Communist influence under the radar.
He’s even listed under a different name in connection with the United Front.
