The Democrat National Convention at which Vice President Kamala Harris will be formally declared the Party’s presidential candidate has had numerous speeches in which Donald Trump has been blamed for the state of the nation.
As CNN commentator Scott Jennings, a Republican, addressed those speeches and the blame game he made a keen observation.
For 12 of the past 16 years Democrats have been in charge of guiding the nation. There was 8 years of former President Obama followed by four years of former President Donald Trump and then four years of President Joe Biden.
But somehow the Democrats speaking at the convention have found ways to blame Trump for inflation, crime and the division in the United States.
“The gap that I see in all these speeches — as good as they were — [Kamala Harris] is in the White House right now,” the analyst said.
“Democrats have controlled the White House for 12 of the last 16 years, and for all of the talk about division and the problems in the country, and people are hurting, Democrats have mostly controlled this country,” he said.
“Trump had it for four, the Obamas and Biden had it for the rest of the time, and somehow, it’s still all Trump’s fault, and somehow, she hasn’t been at the center of it,” Jennings continued.
“To me, that is the glaring hole in this campaign that hasn’t yet been solved at the convention. How do you explain all of the problems that will be solved by the person who is currently in there for the last 3.5 years and who is supposed to be already working on solving it?” he said.
But the issue that Democrats have is that they do not have any accomplishments to point to for Vice President Harris so the only tactic they appear to have is to attack a man who has not been president since January of 2021.
