Charlie Kirk wants to see President Donald Trump and Elon Musk make peace as he warned that the president’s supporters are not going anywhere.
“It’s been hard to watch today and unfortunate in some regards. And I love your take, which is, both of these men deserve great credit for their contributions to help save civilization. Elon Musk bought Twitter, which, of course, became X a couple years ago, which liberated speech, and then of course, President Trump built the most amazing political movement we’ve ever seen. He was shot, almost shot again. He was impeached twice. He was facing 700 years in federal prison. And he was so clear about not surrendering and not backing down and not giving up,” Kirk said to Fox News host Laura Ingraham.
“I will say it’s a tough thing to watch this public feud. I actually think they’re going to reconcile at some point, though, because deep down, I would like to believe they both want the same thing, but we must be very clear, though, that what President Trump wants in this bill, because that really was the forcing function of this kind of this feud, and this schism is exactly what he ran on. This was never an omnibus bill. This was not some sort of big, bloated bill. Instead, it is no tax on tips, the best border security we’ve ever seen, growing ICE agents, where ICE agents have not seen any sort of personnel increase of head count since their original charter in nearly 20 years,” he said.
“We’re going to see amazing energy independence, tax on remittances, asylum claim fees. We’re going to finally be able to finance mass deportations. We’re going to see a bottom up middle class revolution, a blue collar revolution that we saw under Trump won. And I hope everybody understands here that, yes, we wish that we had more cuts. This bill still cuts hundreds of billions of dollars, $1.6 trillion total, but we only have a three seat majority in the House of Representatives, so you’re starting to see a little bit of a collision. And that collision is healthy. I wish it was being happening privately, where you have a small majority, and politics is the art of the possible,” Kirk said.
“President Donald Trump built this movement for 10 years. His supporters are not going anywhere. I hope that Elon and Trump reconcile would be good for the country, and to do so privately,” he said.
