Charlie Kirk Tells Vivek Ramaswamy: ‘You Were Able To Red-Pill Elite Opinion’

Conservative podcast host Charlie Kirk had high praise for former Republican Presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy, who has endorsed former President Donald Trump.

He gave the former candidate credit for being able to “red pill the elite” in an interview ahead of the South Carolina primary.

“You were able to red-pill elite opinion, and you did this better than anyone I’ve seen run for president or do anything in a short period of time. And I’m talking about people with Master’s degrees, PhDs, and billionaires that otherwise were not thinking about these issues. One, for example, is Elon Musk… You have the world’s wealthiest guy who is running some of the most powerful companies on the planet, and you’re having substantive, detailed conversations. So I’d call you the red-piller of the elite,” said Kirk.

“The path to reviving this country runs through reviving that kind of honest debate,” the former candidate said.

“I was surprised at the level of black male support… A specific demographic of people who have been told to shut up, sit down, and do as they’re told,” added Ramaswamy.

And that was not the only interview the former candidate had this week as he appeared on SiriusXM’s The David Webb Show, where he predicted a landslide victory for the former president:

“One of the things I’ve loved in the last couple of weeks, I’ve heard Donald Trump weave this more into his message, and I’ve encouraged him to do more of it. And I know he’s receptive to that – even last night – about free speech, about the importance of free speech in this country, which goes back to the theme that the person on the other side, Joe Biden, will talk about these threats to democracy. But if democracy means one thing, it means that we get to speak our minds openly. And if you want to ask me what, at least, what’s the best measure of the health of American democracy, it’s actually not the number of ballots we cast every November. It’s not the number of green pieces of paper in our bank account. These things are important, but they’re not the most important thing. The best measure of the health of American democracy is the percentage of people who feel free to say, and are able to say, what they actually think in public.

“And so I want to see a Republican party, and I think that we’re going to go there, and I think Donald Trump is going to help lead us there. And I’m going to be there at every step of it, to say that the Republican party now is the ones that stands for the idea that no matter what your view is, you have the right to express it. And I will fight to the death for your right to say it, even if I disagree with you. And how that table has turned relative to 60 years ago, that was a liberal idea. Today I think it actually can be the hallmark, one of the hallmark principles of what it means to be an America-first conservative. The first America-first conservative was actually George Washington. And that’s what he would say if he were alive today, is that we don’t want to be a country where the party in power is removing its political opponents from a ballot or using social media companies to silence speech that we disagree with.

“And so if that’s the way the other party has gone, so be it. We’re not just going to complain about that. We’re going to stand for actually an alternative value system of our own. And free speech and open debate is at the top of that list. And I know that’s something that you’ve embraced and embodied. So we embodied it in bringing in that protestor in [New England College]. And I think it’s a message that I heard come loud and clear through Donald Trump and his speech last night, where I joined him as well. And so I think we’re about to do something for the country this year that the mainstream media narrative completely rejects. And I think we’re going to shatter their narrative. I think this November we’re going to see not a small margin, we’re going to see a landslide like what Ronald Reagan delivered in 1980. That’s what I think we’re going to do this year in 2024. And I know people, you know, even those who will reluctantly vote for Trump, will say things like, “Okay, well at least he got the job done, but I wish X, Y or Z other thing.” I think what we’re going to see in the second term is a president who actually, dare I say it, reunites this country. And I think that’s something that people are hungry for, Democrat, Republican, black or white. Even if people don’t admit it right now, I think we are hungry for reviving one nation under God.

“And I think that’s the thing that Donald Trump is going to surprise this country with, not only a landslide this November, but the way he leads this country for the next four years. And I’ll tell you, I’m going to do everything in my power to make sure that we achieve that goal of reviving one nation. And I think people are hungry for it, and I think we’re going to deliver it to them.”
