On Tuesday, Joe Biden announced his first in-person public appearance since dropping out of the 2024 presidential race. The commander in chief will address the nation from the Oval Office at 8 pm EST on Wednesday.
Since being diagnosed with COVID-19 last week, Biden has been holed up at his home in Rehoboth, Delaware. Despite presidential physician Dr. Kevin O’Connor recently noting that Biden’s symptoms have “almost resolved completely” and that all his vitals are “absolutely normal,” his only public engagement has been a call-in to Kamala Harris’ campaign event on Monday.
Tomorrow evening at 8 PM ET, I will address the nation from the Oval Office on what lies ahead, and how I will finish the job for the American people.

During the call-in to Harris’ campaign event, Biden mentioned that COVID-19 would keep him “out of people’s hair for the next three or four days,” but reassured his audience that he was “not going anywhere” and would be “out on the campaign with [Harris] working like hell.”
“I won’t be on the ticket, but I’m still gonna be fully, fully engaged,” Biden added. “I’ve still got six months left in my presidency, and I’m determined to get as much done as I possibly can, both foreign policy and domestic policy.”
