During a White House Press gaggle on Air Force One, Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre announced that President Joe Biden would be embarking on another week-long vacation, starting at his home in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, this evening.
This marks the third visit to Delaware since Father’s Day and will be the longest stay at his estate since taking office. Previous trips this year were weekend visits.

The President’s vacation comes amidst multiple controversies. Hunter Biden, the President’s son, recently pleaded not guilty to tax crimes after a plea deal fell apart due to disputes over a diversion agreement for a gun charge. The judge expressed surprise at the unusual diversion agreement submitted by DOJ Attorney Leo Wise.
Additionally, Republican House Speaker Kevin McCarthy has publicly called for President Biden’s impeachment over alleged business dealings involving his family. McCarthy accused the President of weaponizing the government for family benefit and obstructing Congress’s oversight.

Last week, Senator Chuck Grassley released an FBI informant file linking President Biden and his son to a $10 million bribery scheme allegedly paid by the CEO of Ukrainian natural gas company Burisma Holdings, Mykola Zlochvsky. The informant’s file claims that Zlochevsky mentioned paying the Bidens to ensure the firing of Ukraine Prosecutor General Viktor Shokin, who was investigating Burisma. Joe Biden had called for Shokin’s dismissal, citing corruption concerns.

President Biden’s vacation also coincides with a decline in his approval rating, which currently stands at 41 percent, according to Five Thirty-Eight. The Republican National Committee (RNC) research shows that he has spent approximately 39.2 percent of his presidency on vacation, totaling 253 days.
